MeSince Browser public beta is releasedsupport Chinese Cryptography Algorithm and SM2 SSL certificate

Shenzhen, China – March 8, 2019. Today, MeSign Technology Limited has released MeSign Browser public beta, it is based on Chromium open source project development (version: Chromium 66), it is mainly added to support the Chinese Cryptography Algorithm SM2/SM3/SM4 and SM2 SSL certificate, and also modified the SSL certificate user interface, using V1/V2/V3/V4 icon to identify different types of SSL certificates (DV/IV/OV/EV).

MeSign Browser complies with the China National Standard "GM/T 0024-2014: SSL VPN Technical Specification” and supports the National Cryptography Algorithm. Asymmetric algorithm: SM2 algorithm, Symmetric algorithm: SM4 algorithm, Hash algorithm: SM3 algorithm. At the same time, it supports all international cryptography algorithms, ensuring that users can access the website that only supports the National Cryptography Algorithm and can access the website that only supports the international standard algorithm.

MeSign Browser follows the rules of the certificate user interface for MeSince (an encrypted email client), and displays the EV SSL certificate website as a padlock, a V4 icon plus the organization name, and displays a green address bar; displays the OV SSL certificate website as a padlock, a V3 icon plus the organization name, and displays a white address bar; displays the IV SSL certificate website as a padlock, a V2 icon plus the personal full name, and displays a white address bar; display the DV SSL certificate website as a padlock, a V1 icon, and display a white address bar; displays the non-SSL certificate website as a red unlocked padlock.

MeSign Browser attaches great importance to the website identity validation and display of the real identity of the website. The identity of the website validated by CA is a credible identity, and the identity information of the website must be clearly displayed to prevent the user from being deceived. While some browsers only emphasize encryption one-sidedly and ignore the importance of website identity, many fraudulent websites have deployed non-identity DV SSL certificates in an attempt to make users think that they are safe and trustworthy.

MeSign Browser does not display "Not secure" for websites that do not deploy a SSL certificate, but displays "unencrypted". It is fair and objective to tell users that https encryption is not enabled on this website. Unencrypted does not mean it is not secure.

MeSign Browser will plan to support the resolution of S/MIME signatures and encrypted emails, making it easy for users to log in to their mailboxes and view signed and encrypted emails in MeSign Browser. MeSign Browser also plans to support display of PDF signature and PDF files encrypted with certificates.

Welcome to download and install this browser that supports the Chinese Cryptography Algorithm and SM2 SSL certificate, and use this browser to access the test website that deployed SM2 SSL certificate: https://sm2test.ovssl.cn. At the same time, you are welcome to use other browsers to visit this test site and experience the magic of WoTrus SM2 https solution for all browsers support and all browsers trusted.
